CLT
A structural panel made of timber layers arranged at right angles. Panel configuration and sizing are considered together with project engineering.
Add to request +About the product
CLT stands for cross-laminated timber, a mass timber panel made from layers of timber lamellas arranged in crossing directions. CLT panels are considered for walls, floors and roofs through project-specific design. Kariwood handles supply enquiries in which panel requirements are defined using technical documents and project information.
Technical information
Technical values are taken from the brochure below and apply to the specified product and variant.
| Property | Brochure value |
|---|---|
| Wood species | Spruce |
| Length | Up to 16 m |
| Width | Up to 3.5 m |
| Layer thicknesses | 20 / 30 / 40 mm |
| Moisture | 12% ± 2% |
Applications
Wall, floor and roof panels. Load capacity, fire, acoustics and connections require project-specific engineering assessment.

Choosing CLT panels
CLT is a building component. Panel dimensions, layer arrangements and connections are designed together, so architectural and structural information starts the supply discussion.
Add to requestCLT, plywood and glued laminated timber
CLT is a panel made from cross-arranged timber lamellas. Plywood uses thinner veneer layers, while glued laminated timber beams have a different lamella orientation and structural role. These materials share a wood origin but are not direct substitutes. CLT load behaviour depends on the layer arrangement and loading direction.

Spans, loads, supports, openings and connection details are considered together. Fire, acoustic and thermal requirements need assessment of the complete building assembly. CLT alone does not automatically give a building a seismic rating, fire classification or energy performance; the relevant design and product documentation is required.
Source · PDF page 11 · CLT-TRPanel thickness versus lamella thickness
The 20, 30 and 40 mm values in the technical table describe brochure lamella thicknesses, not finished CLT panel thickness. Total panel thickness is defined by the number and arrangement of layers. Maximum brochure lengths and widths are not ready-stock sizes for every project; production, transport and erection constraints must be checked together.

Provide a panel schedule or project drawings, approximate square or cubic metres, layer requirements, machining and openings, delivery location and target programme. Distinguish panel supply, transport and site assembly in the requested scope. If the panel schedule is not final, the project stage and intended application are enough to begin the discussion.
